Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr has once again signaled his support for President William Ruto ahead of the 2027 General Election, in remarks that could further reshape the country’s evolving political landscape.
Speaking amid growing political realignments, the governor hinted that he would back President Ruto’s bid for a second term, reinforcing sentiments he has previously expressed. His position places him among a number of leaders seen to be drifting toward the ruling side despite affiliations or perceived alignment with opposition figures.
At the same time, Governor Kilonzo issued a cautionary message to Kalonzo Musyoka, urging him to remain vigilant about individuals within the United Opposition. He questioned the sincerity of some actors in the coalition, warning that internal divisions and hidden agendas could undermine its cohesion.
The remarks come at a time when the opposition bloc is grappling with unity challenges, as leaders seek to consolidate support and present a formidable front against the ruling administration.
