By Wini A, and her auntie, Ruth B, taking charge of Raila Odinga anniversary celebrations, you can rest assured that the entire thing will FAIL.
Wini A is too incompetent and too conflicted to run anything.
Till now, she hasn’t accepted that she doesn’t understand Kenyan politics even though she perched herself around the father as the “all knowing” political and communications strategist.
Sadly, and as I had been warning throughout the campaign, her incompetence, hubris and arrogance created so much confusion, rigidity and fear that the campaign was mostly run like a baby shower show.
It is no wonder she was not even aware the father was losing the election, as she spent the entire Election Week planning for her own wedding at the Cana of Nairobi (state house lawns). Even after Chebukati had made the final announcement, she was still in WhatsApp groups mobilizing for a second ‘declaration’ which was only possible in her imaginations.
With this history, and her recent campaign failures, one would have expected her to jump off her high horse — but like with all the ‘lucky sperms’ in Kenya and elsewhere in Africa, patience and humility are hard to come by.
Ruth B, on the other hand, believes that she suffered more than all of us because she was safely removed from Kenya to Norway, to be shielded from the Jomo Kenyatta and Moi repression which all her Luo agemates with no passports or surnames to access the world outside Kenya, endured helplessly, haplessly and hopelessly.
Ruth has been entitled for the 60+ years she’s lived on earth, feeding off her brother’s successes. She’s got the nominations. She’s got the elections, simply because ODM supporters never wanted to embarrass Baba.
Ruth always forget that as her father was detained in his own home where he could at least raise his children, other KPU leaders spent decades in prison, many to be released only when Kenyatta died, and some to be re-arrested under Moi.
Most of these leaders had their families wrecked, their children’s education and job prospects wasted, and the poverty in Nyanza that the 1965-66 fallout created, is just being sorted by Ruto today — who has pumped close to Ksh700bn to Luo Nyanza.
The two spoilt brats, with their faceless allies, have already pushed ODM to the fringes of the anniversary. They’ve taken charge of the anniversary to platform Uhuru and his elements who will be talking trash to Raila supporters while attacking President Ruto.
The reason Uhuru sneaked back to public limelight to make those incendiary comments was to set the stage for Luos to return to the pain and hurt of the 2022 election, now conveniently blamed on Ruto’s victory, which shouldn’t have happened had Uhuru not conned us. Yet the same Uhuru is the keynote guest of Wini A and her self-absorbed auntie, Ruth B.
Alongside Orengo, Sifuna, Babu, Gachagua and that entire anti-ODM groupies; these are the guests that Wini has lined up to honour her ‘dad’.
The irony is that they expect the ODM Party “structures” to mobilize the party base to the anniversary, after which they will unleash the above anti-ODM elements to say all manner of trash and garbage.
As someone who has been consistent in calling Wini out; she should know that these games she’s played on the party in the last two elections cost the party a lot.
She should also know that just as the party of her grandfather died and was consigned to Bukusu graveyard, so too will be ODM, if she continues with her childish games.
We freely joined ODM to support the father.
She must never forget there was no gun placed on anybody’s head.
With this said, you can count me out of the first anniversary of Baba.
When the stain and stench of traitors and betrayers like Uhuru Kenyatta have been removed from Baba’s graveyard, some of us will in future pay our respects.
For this first anniversary, sadly I’ll pass.
