USAWA NI SAWA: KENYA MUST RISE BEYOND TRIBALISM AND REGIONAL INEQUALITY

Usawa ni Usawa is not just a slogan about equality. It is a call to confront the historical injustices, regional disparities and structural inequalities that have shaped our nation since independence.

More than six decades after attaining self-rule, we must ask ourselves an uncomfortable question: Why should a Kenyan’s access to quality roads, healthcare, education and sports facilities still depend, to a large extent, on the region they come from?

Development should never be the preserve of a few regions. Every Kenyan deserves passable roads, accessible healthcare, quality schools and modern sports infrastructure, regardless of their geographical location or ethnic identity.

This is where Usawa ni Usawa comes in. It is a call for equitable distribution of national resources, fair development priorities and deliberate investment in regions that have historically lagged behind. It does not mean every county must receive identical resources
