Those saying “why the hurry” this is why we are in a hurry.
We accuse the Jubilee Party of wasting ODM’s time with constant indecisions within its ranks, especially its ruling ranks.
We entered a partnership in 2018 and ‘jointly’ ran government for four years.
At the end of those four years we had NOTHING but an expectation, which was: a reciprocal support for Raila Odinga in 2022.
They did not deliver.
Today, the political gripe we have with Uhuru is on that failure.
We call it THE LONG CON.
We saw him through Coronavirus, fought his tax wars, helped him build the expressway; all while his party collapsed and his backyard took a frightened flight to DP Ruto.
We must not make the mistake of dithering, or spending too much time plotting, and counter-plotting. We must not go round in circles. This was vintage Jubilee.
We must quickly close ranks with UDA and begin setting up structures for 2027. If the party chooses Wiper, it must quickly move into a suporting role and let Wiper take charge. If the party is going it alone, that too must be clear to the base.
People in ODM who are used to wasting everybody’s time are whining about the “pace” of things because they are being told to JERK themselves off to reality.
A successful presidential election in Kenya takes a long time to plan and stage.
The irony is that Dr. Oburu Odinga is being accused of senility, while at the same time being accused of “hurrying” things up. How can a slow man be so fast?
The old man is fast-paced in his thinking about how our politics should proceed. No room for hesitation and no room for indecision. By June, this year, the question of which formation ODM Party heads with to 2027 must be settled.
That’s the date the Party Leader has set and that’s the date the “party structures” have been ordered to proceed to undertake requisite next stages.
We are not fast. You are too slow.
