ODM CHAIRPERSON Gladys Wanga has thrown her support behind Dagoreti North incumbent MP Beatrice ELACHI who is facing relentless heat from Kileleshwa strongman Hon. Robert Alai.
Polls in Dagoreti North put Alai ahead of Elachi.
Worried of losing in ODM primaries, Elachi has privately told Wanga she will quit the ODM party if Alai is not prevailed upon to quit the race.
Elachi joined ODM ahead of 2022 from Jubilee and was issued direct ticket.
In the recent party consultative meeting at a city hotel in Nairobi, Wanga is said to have urged the party to ringfence seats held by women, claiming that’s ’what Raila would have done’.
ODM Party Leader Dr. Oburu Odinga has outrightly rejected preservation of seats.
