Winnie Blocks Oburu from Raila’s Capitol Hill, JOOF Offices

The second most powerful political address in Nairobi has shifted from Capitol Hill to a secluded house on Riverside Drive as ODM Party Leader Dr. Oburu Odinga appear to have given up on his quest to run ODM from Capitol Hill.

Capitol Hill was for years Raila Odinga’s political office as ODM Party Leader but that is no longer the case as the Raila family have locked out current ODM leadership from accessing the former seat of power of the Party Leader.

Raila’s daughter Winnie is said to have given firm instructions to keep the office locked under key and guard.

Sources tell Nyanza Wire Raila purchased the entire building housing the office, hence the Raila family have absolute ownership of the office, and not the ODM Party.

Dr. Oburu has also been locked from using Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation (JOOF) for party activities.

The Foundation’s gardens had undergone extensive rehabilitation to hold upto 100 people and had been used on numerous occasions by the late party leader.

Initially forming part of a Railways land holding with the Odingas as a long term tenant (the Odingas have been on the property for 40years), the property is also alleged to have been recently purchased by Raila Odinga, hence now belong exclusively to the Raila family.

The new office of the ODM party leader on Riverside Drive is said to have been purchased by a UK based Engineer who is a long time funder of the ODM Party.
